Adult Training

GIRL PROGRAMS

Babysitter Training is a 7-hour course that teaches the responsibilities of the well-trained sitter, emphasizing leadership/communication skills, basic child care, good business practices, child development and many safety related issues. In this course, basic safety skills are discussed/practiced but CPR and F.A. certifications are not earned. Take home materials include the Babysitter Training handbook, Emergency Reference Guide and a CD-ROM filled with downloads to help start your babysitting business!!

Students earn a Babysitter Training card and the Caring for Children badge.
Recommended for ages 11-15.
$50  per girl (snacks included)
Registration – 8 minimum/15 maximum
Venue to include space for floor-based skills plus TV/DVD player (and remote)

Babysitter Boot Camp starts with the BBS Training curriculum, then adds a whole lot more! During the 16-hours of training, students take infant & child CPR training and certification, learn about household poisons,  discuss water safety, practice resume writing, learn additional First Aid  skills and create a take away first aid kit. Take home materials include the BBS Training handbook, Emergency Reference Guide and the CD-ROM mentioned in BBS Training, as well as the skill cards for Infant/Child CPR.

Students earn a Babysitter Training card and CPR-Child & Infant certification card, as well as the Caring for Children badge.

Basic Aid Training is a 4-hour course designed as an introduction for the younger set in how to handle calling 9-1-1, checking an unconscious person, potential household poisons, bleeding and bandaging, choking and building a take away First Aid kit. BAT participant book is included with 7 additional modules to review with the girls. Juniors will earn a First Aid badge

Recommended for Brownies and Juniors
$15 per girl
Registration – 15 minimum/25maximum
Venue should be large enough for girls to work on floor-based skills.

Assorted Safety and Outdoor Awareness presentations designed to meet your troop’s individual training needs. Time frames, content, cost and dates to be custom designed to your specifications!

Adult Training

Standard First Aid- CPR-Adult & Child is the combination training that keeps the leaders and adults in compliance with Safety Wise. This 7-8 hour course is designed to follow the American Red Cross curriculum which builds into the trainings ample time for hands-on training with your own manikin, video support for standardized skills and plenty of opportunity to ask questions and discuss current safety issues! Certification cards earned with this class include First Aid (3 year) and Adult/child CPR (1 year) plus take home reference materials.

NOTE: Some classes offered at Sahuaro Council, otherwise troops or groups will create their own classes at their own, convenient location!

No age minimum for youth – able to understand curriculum and physically perform CPR skills on manikin
$45 per student (in Tucson area)

Blended Learning for same FA/CPR curriculum brings the combination of online learning and in-class skills check. Register with P2 Preparedness for this innovative presentation format. Online learning with video and knowledge testing. Then a much more abbreviated “in-class time” to test skills (approximately 2-3 hours) Must complete both portions of class to receive certification. The only combination class designed by ARC National is the First Aid plus CPR/Adult, child and infant. During the online portion, you must test out of the infant section. If you don’t want to perform the skills set in class, that is okay. Then you’ll receive a CPR/Adult and child (only) certification card along with the F.A. card. Skills cards are the take home reference materials.

NOTE: Some classes are offered at Sahuaro Council, otherwise troops or groups will create their own classes at their own, convenient location and time! When registering for this class you MUST have a date selected/determined in order for the registration to be completed!
