Uncovering the Evidence

If some of your favorite TV shows and movies involve crime-scene
tape, dusting for fingerprints, and analyzing blood spatter –
then this workshop is for you! “Discover” the fascinating career
of forensic science. Create and solve fictional cases as you
“Connect” with other CSIs. Understand what forensic scientists
do: analyze physical evidence to uncover truth using chemistry,
biology and physics. “Take Action” as you learn how to analyze
household “clues” using forensic science techniques.
Camping with the Creatures: Reid Park Zoo Overnight, May
Who: Brownie Girl Scouts (Grades 1-3)

Where: Reid Park Zoo, 1030 S. Randolph Way, Tucson
Fee: $35.00 per participant
Registration Deadline: 2 ˝ weeks prior to each session

Spend a WILD night at the zoo! “Discover” the animals’ night
time adventures in the Reid Park Zoo. “Connect” with zoo keepers
and education staff as they explain caring for the creatures.
Arrive at dusk and begin a flashlight adventure through the zoo.
“Take Action” during your zoo experience by enjoying a tour of
the zoo health center and commissary, a storyteller by the
campfire and a slide show in the zoo school. All programs are
focused for Brownie-age girls. A packing list will be included
with the confirmation letter.

Where: Pima Air & Space Museum, 6000 E. Valencia Rd., Tucson
Girl Fee: $32.00
Leader Fee: No charge for leaders and adults within Safety-Wise
guidelines for girl/adult ratio. Adults limited to Safety-Wise
guidelines.

Capacity: Minimum 25/Maximum 32
“Discover” what goes into a Space Shuttle mission.
Participants will “Connect” science and team problem-solving
with a Challenger Space Mission. The Challenger Learning Center
is a state-of-the-art space mission
simulator, including Mission Control and Space Station areas
complete with computers, video cameras and research
instrumentation used for educational training programs.
Participants will “Take Action” by joining the mission,
“Rendezvous with a Comet.” Additional activities will complete
this amazing overnight experience.
