Overnight Resident Camps on Mt. Lemmon
Develop new skills, build lasting friendships and discover your potential – all while having fun at camp. Each unit is staffed with highly trained counselors and a program specialist. Campers in a unit live together in a close cluster of cabins with staff members sleeping nearby in a central cabin. Hiking, arts and crafts, archery, singing, nature games, outdoor skills, dancing and drama are a part of every camp experience, while additional activities reflect the unit’s theme. You’ll also enjoy campfires and theme parties. Come join us for a mountain of fun! We can’t wait to meet you all on the mountain this summer.

Whispering Pines Open House
Sunday, June 6, 1 - 3 pm
Free! All girls & their families are welcome!
Come join us for a little summer fun during Open House. Visit Whispering Pines to learn more about Resident Camps, Troop Camps and Mom & Me Camp. You can meet the camp staff and directors, take a guided tour, and try a tasty snack. Kids can make a simple craft to take home and enter a drawing to win a free camp T-shirt. You can have all your questions answered and even register for camp on site!
Optional Transportation to Whispering Pines Resident Camps
Optional transportation to and from Resident Camp is available for an additional charge. ($30 round trip or $15 one way). Buses leave from and return to the Girl Scout Resource Center. If you would like your daughter to ride the bus to or from camp, please indicate so on the registration form. If your transportation needs change please notify the Council at least three weeks prior to the beginning of the camp session. Information on schedules is provided in the confirmation packet. A minimum number of riders will be required to ensure bus service.

Crafty Critters
June 13-18
Ages 7-10

Let's get crafty! This artistic week will be filled with color in many forms as you discover the joys of painting and jewelry making. Connect with friends while you make things with paper and clay. Try other camp favorites like hiking, sports, games and sing-alongs. At the end of the week, it is time to take action and show all of your creations at the Art Show.
Packs and Poles
June 13-18
Ages 9-11
Fee: $276
Plan, prepare and participate in a backpacking adventure. Discover the excitement of the outdoors while you learn about low-impact camping, how to pack your backpack and outdoor cooking. Connect with camp tradition as you try archery and arts and crafts in between warm up hikes. Take action and carry your pack to a nearby lake to camp out for two nights. Spend time fishing at the lake after you learn fishing safety and tips. Everyone must bring sturdy hiking boots and have the ability and willingness to hike a few miles each day while carrying a backpack. You can enjoy this program even if you have little or no backpacking equipment or experience.
CSI: Camp Science Investigations
June 13-18

Be a part of the Whispering Pines CSI Team! Discover clues, decode a secret message, grow crystals and examine fingerprints. Do some fun science and see how it all connects using chemistry, biology and physics. In addition, you will participate in regular camp programs including ultraviolet beaded jewelry and chromatographic crafts. Get ready to take action and solve a camp mystery. See you at the lab!
Moon Shadows
June 13-18
Ages 11-14
Fee: $276
Stay up late, count the stars and discover the world of camp after dark. Connect with other cultures and learn moon myths from around the world. Take action as you try a flashlight game, go night Frisbee golfing or take a night hike. You will sleep later than other campers and eat breakfast in your unit.
Night Owls
June 20-25
Ages 9-11

Night owls will get a dose of traditional camp activities like volleyball and archery in the afternoon, but after the sun has set and everyone else is going to bed, your adventure will just be getting started. As the day dims into dark you'll have a chance to discover the night life of camp. Connect with ancient traditions as you learn about constellations and stars. You can take action by planning a late-night cookout and taking a turn on a night watch. And yes, you get to sleep in!
Fit for Fun
June 20-25
Ages 9-11

You'll look and feel great after a week at the Whispering Pines "Spa." Discover fitness, fun and health as we taste nutritious foods, test different hairstyles and try a facial. Connect with your body and exercise your muscles as you play volleyball, hike, try archery and more. Try yoga stretches and different ways to warm up, stretch and cool down. You'll take action as you create a spa package of comfort items from lip balm to bath soap. Enjoy campfires, outdoor cooking and dramatics in between all the fitness fun.
Off Broadway
June 20-25
Ages 11-14

Delve into the world of theater and discover a variety of techniques from improvisation and acting to stage, costume and lighting design. Connect with others and practice your skills or learn new ones. Try traditional camp favorites like archery, sing-alongs and cookouts too. This program is designed for girls with some performing arts experience but 13 and 14 year olds without experience are welcome. Don't miss this chance to be part of the big production and take action at our stage just 2500 miles from Broadway.
Forget Me Knots
June 20-25
Ages 7-10

Travel back in time and discover mountain life pioneer style! Connect with the early pioneers as you try making a candle, a bar of soap and even a simple toy. Take action as you cook outdoors and make your own bread, butter and jam. Learn some early pioneer games, and then circle up around the campfire for storytelling and a sing-along. Enjoy other camp favorites as you learn about life in the 1800s.
Muggle Magic
July 11-16
Ages 9-11

Discover an adventure full of Muggle Magic during this week of fantasy and fun. It all begins with the Sorting Hat, which will sort you into your unit. Next it's time to take action and cook concoctions in Potions, take a Herbology hike, and take care of Magical Mountain Creatures! Practice Divination while stargazing and spend an afternoon learning to play our special version of Quidditch. Connect with other Muggles as you enjoy dramatics, archery and arts and crafts.
Princess in the Pines
July 11-16
Ages 7-10

Discover our world of enchantment in a forest not so far away. You can use your imagination to be a little princess while you make a tiara or a fancy hat. Learn how to set a table and use your manners as you connect with your friends at an elegant tea party. You'll take action to share the magic of friendship as you create personalized stationery, decorative soaps and dainty chocolates. You'll have time for other favorites like archery, hiking and sing-alongs. This week will end happily ever after!
Hollywood Hills
July 11-16
Ages 7-10

Hooray for Hollywood Hills! Discover acting basics, sound projection, set design, stage make-up and scripts. Design your own costume and make a mask as you connect with the theatrical world. Next, it is time to take action! You can enjoy the spotlight or be a part of the backstage crew at the end of the week when your unit puts on a show for the entire camp. You can also experience camp favorites such as hiking, arts and crafts and nature games. No acting experience is necessary.
Art Daze
July 11-16
Ages 11-14

This week you'll be walking around in an art daze as you discover your artistic abilities. Connect with your sister artists and take part in projects like tie-dye, candle making, weaving, drawing and painting. All the traditional camp favorites are also on your schedule. Let your artistic talents shine as you take action and create a special group project to add to the beauty of camp, or dream up your own project before all your art goes on display at the end of the week.
Whispering Pines Resident Camps for Teens
C.I.T. (Counselor In Training)
June 13-25
Ages 15-17, Entering grades 10,11, or 12

Come discover the leader in you! C.I.T. provides an opportunity to connect with yourself and others while learning teamwork and leadership skills. This intensive 2-week session prepares you for the rigors and rewards of being a camp counselor. Make a difference in a young girl's life while focusing on a program skill such as drama, hiking, crafts or outdoor skills. Get ready to take action by helping to organize and prepare an all-camp ceremony or theme night.
Program Aide

Enter into a challenging training that will help you discover valuable skills for working with younger girls in a camp, special program or troop setting. Find out how you can connect to camp as you receive leadership training and specialize in a program area such as arts and crafts, dancing, drama or outdoor skills. You'll have time for team building, personal growth, and traditional camp fun like hiking, singing and archery. Gain teamwork skills as you take action to help with traditional camp ceremonies and events.
