Hacienda Program Center: Day Camp for Girls in K-5th Grade
Welcome from our Day Camp Directors
This year each of our day camps will offer a group of distinct activities that will challenge every girl to bring out her inner creativity and personality. Camp is a place for girls of all ages to let loose and be themselves. You will be impressed with how your girls will improve their self-esteem and develop leadership skills all while having an experience of a lifetime.
In our redesigned camp experience, girls will go back to basics and re-discover what it means to be a Girl Scout. Girls will earn badges and awards while discovering the new Girl Scout Journeys. Campers will take part in archery, volleyball, swimming, other traditional camp activities and, of course, make new friends!
We're extremely excited to embark on this journey with your girls! We're going to have a blast!

New this year at Hacienda Day Camp
Each girl will create her very own personalized scrapbook filled with her favorite camp memories, projects and pictures! Girls will also have an hour of free time each day where they can choose to play volleyball, basketball, relax and reflect with yoga, take advantage of extra swim time, read or even take a nap! In addition, it is our desire to develop strong, healthy girls not only in spirit but also in body. This year we will be serving healthful snacks. We will be preparing and eating snacks made with fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grains! And finally, our Hacienda Program Center is a green property. Girls will be actively recycling, composting and learning about the importance of water conservation. We ask that each girl do her part by bringing a reusable water bottle!
All Hacienda Day Camps are from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday - Friday.
Special Bonus! Girls who register for camp by April 1, 2010 wil receive a BPA-free reusable water bottle!
*One free bottle per camper. Includes Hacienda Day Camp and Whispering Pines Resident Camp only. Registration must be received by April 1, 2010.

Wonders of Water
June 7-11

Slip, slide, swim and play! Water gives us so many ways to get wet and have fun. Learn to love, save and share one of Arizona's most scarce natural resources. And don't forget double pool time! Campers will work on the Wonders of Water Journey and can earn the Water Everywhere, Swimming, Water Fun and Water Wonders Try-Its and Badges. Includes a field trip to Breakers Water Park!
Express Yourselft Art Sampler with Local Artists
June 14-18

Join us for a week of creativity, exploration and fun, all while learning to use new techniques and mediums to craft a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. Learn to create art from trash on your journey to becoming an artist. Campers will earn the Building Art, Drawing and Painting, Art in 3-D, and Ceramics and Clay badges. Artists unite! Includes a field trip to Pump it Up!
Summit Hut 
Outdoor Adventure Camp
June 21-25
$188 plus $30 optional Whispering Pines overnight
Hiking, climbing, geocaching and water sports. If exploring high adventure gets your heart beating, then this is the camp for you! Learn to live and have fun in the great outdoors and spend a day rock climbing with a certified adventure guide! Adventurers will earn the Adventure Sports, Outdoor Adventurer, Ready, Set, Go Camping, Outdoor Cook, Finding Your Way, and Outdoor Fun badges. Whew! And if that's not enough, campers can choose to enjoy an overnight camping trip at Whispering Pines!
Monsoon Madness

Do you think you have what it takes to survive the monsoon? This is the camp for you! Learn how to build a shelter to withstand the rain as well as make a boat with your fellow campers and sail across the water. This camp will have you thinking outside the box. And don't forget double pool time! Includes a field trip to Breakers Water Park! You'll earn our Council's Own Monsoon Madness badge, the Weather Watch badge, and a fun patch.
Desert Divas

Do you picture yourself center stage? Campers will shine in the spotlight and sample singing, dancing, cheerleading, acting and film production. Show off in our Karaoke Contest and go behind the scenes during a field trip to a local movie theatre! Campers will earn the Let's Pretend and Theatre badges.
Future Fashionistas
July 26-30

Calling all fashionistas. Come learn the history and mystery of clothing design, redo your own look and do hands on projects that reflect your style. Learn to develop your very own fashion sense using different techniques, from fun prints and graphics to everyday household material. Create amazing recycled fashion and show off your new look at the end of the week ceremony. Designers will earn the Art to Wear, Yarn and Fabric Arts, and Stitch It Together badges. Includes a field trip to Pump it Up!
Cowgirl Up! Horse Camp
June 7-11

Spend the week with TROT while you get to know a new furry friend. Learn to ride, groom, and care for your own horse and tack. Each cowgirl will receive 15 hours of hands-on riding
instruction and will enjoy traditional camp favorites. This program is open to everyone, including those with special abilities. Join the Orca Swim Team!
The Orca Swim Team has a 30 year history of encouraging sportsmanship, spirit, motivation, dedication, and excellence in each individual swimmer. The Orcas are part of the Southern Arizona Aquatics Association (SAAA), a summer competitive swim program. Team membership is open to swimmers of all abilities, ages 4 through high school. Our season runs from April through July. We are happy to again be swimming at the Girl Scouts Hacienda Program Center pool and invite you to join the Orcas and be part of the fun. Team registration will be held on March 20 from 1 - 3 pm at the Hacienda Program Center. Come check us out!
