It’s time to plan for an International Girl Scout Trip!!!Travel Group Info Meeting, Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at 5:30 pm

Hey World Travelers...Our summer 2010 international trip is taking a detour. One of the most useful skills we learn in Girl Scouting is how to be flexible. In the hopes that more Girl Scouts can attend a trip a little closer to home, we're headed to my favorite World Center... Our Cabaña!

In the summer of 2010 we'll join Girl Scouts and Guides from around the world at Our Cabaña which is literally, "Our Home" in Mexico! Dates and cost are TBA but estimated costs are about $750 plus air fare.

What's so great about visiting Our Cabaña? I'm glad you asked! It's a Shangri-la nestled in a walled property in Cuernavaca, Mexico. You'll form friendships you'll keep for the rest of your life as you meet and work with other girls from far off places. During the session, you'll learn how to make traditional Mexican crafts in the amazing craft house. You'll participate in a service project with local children. There's a swimming pool, tennis court, volleyball court and beautiful grounds with seating areas where you can relax and talk with your new friends. If all that is not enough to get your interested...there are day trips to Cuernavaca, Taxco (the silver capital of Mexico) and Tepoztlan (a traditional Mexican Craft market town). If you are up to the challenge, you can participate in activities which will lead up to your admission into a secret sisterhood (shhh) known to members as The Dead Scorpion Society!

Who can go? Girls who are 15-18 in the summer of 2010.

If you're interested, please contact Timalee Nevels at 520-319-3159 or for info about the first travel group meeting.
