Brownies Bring Smiles
Girl Scout Week- 7 days of sunshine
Service Opportunity

Where: Your home, school, neighborhood, place of worship
Who: All levels
Fee: $3
Register by: March 1, 2010

Service is an important part of Girl Scouting. This Arizona Cactus-Pine Council's Own patch can be earned by completing 3 out of 4 activities during Girl Scout Week. Girls participating in this Girl Scout Week patch program receive the patch for participating, not for giving service which we do service without expectation of reward.

Jammin' in Jammies
Brownie's Birthday Bash
When: Friday, March 12, 2010, 6:00 pm to Saturday, March 13, 10:00 am
Where: Hacienda Program Property
Who: Brownies
Fee: $35 per girl

Capacity: Minimum 10/Maximum 40 girls

Throw yourselves the biggest brownie birthday party you have ever seen! Girl Scouts are turning 98 years old and you get to plan the party complete with games, presents, favors, and Girls Scout traditions. Did I mention cake?

These monster-sized overnighters include camp favorites like singing, flag ceremony, and arts and crafts, plus the awesome camp-themed activities. These unique sleepovers offer something for everyone. Dinner, breakfast, lunch and snacks are all included.

Where: Vista Del Rio Cultural Resource Park, 7575 E. Desert Arbors Street

Join us to learn about the ancient Hohokam who lived at the Vista Del Rio archaeological site. Supervised demonstrations and hands-on activities will be staged at sequential stations along a trail through the park. There will be demonstrations of traditional Native American crafts such as pottery-making, flintknapping and basket weaving; and hands-on activities including making pottery artifacts that participants can take home, grinding corn on an ancient metate and mano set, and learning to play at least one traditional Native American game.

Enjoy at outdoor matinee perfomance of Folk Tales for Fun presented by Girl Scouts on Stage at the scenic Hacienda Program Center Amphitheatre, 3101 N. Sabino Canyon Rd., Tucson
Did you know that there could be as many versions of the Cinderella story as there are countries in the world? Take a tour of Germany, Liberia, Turkey and Egypt with entertaining, universal folk tales both new and familiar. During this 45-minute production, you'll encounter the Bremen Town Musicians, the Snake, Rhodopis and Her Golden Sandals, the Three Hares and more! Fun Fridays!

Where: Hacienda Program Center
Fee: $8.00 per person, regardless of age
Capacity: Minimum 30/Maximum 150
Register: 2 weeks prior to event. Register early, space is limited. Advance registration is required.

Join us at the Hacienda Program Center on select Friday evenings throughout the year for a celebration of Girl Scouts.

Activities Include:
• "Change Your World" community service project
• "Imagine If" game or craft project
• Hot dogs on the grill (and additional food items)
• Campfire and sing-along (weather permitting)
• Finish out the evening with a fun movie on our giant screen!

Girl Scout Day at Tucson Botanical Gardens!
When: Saturday, March 20, 2010, 9:00 am - 12:00 noon
Where: Tucson Botanical Gardens, 2150 N. Alvernon Way
Who: All levels and families welcome
Fee: $3.00 per girl and leader - tag along adults at regular price

Come explore the Tucson Botanical Gardens and all they have to offer! Please wear something to identify yourself as a Girl Scout. No reservation or registration necessary. For more information, contact Lisa Chittim at 326-9686, ext. 18.

From Earth to Eat:
Seeds and Sprouts Planting Day

When: Saturday, March 20, 2010, 9:00 - 11:00 am
Where: Sahuaro Girl Scout Council Resource Center
Who: Daisies and Brownies
Fee: $5.00 per girl, includes patch
Register by: March 15, 2010
Capacity: Minimum 10/Maximum 20 girls

Come help us plant our spring and summer crops at the Resource Center's demonstration garden! Girls will get to take home garden seeds to plant at home.

You don't want to miss out as Sahuaro Girl Scout Council presents its first ever outdoor skill Olympics! There are events for every interest and skill level. Practice up on your skills and come show your stuff at this event. All girls leave with an award.

3rd Annual Wellness Fair
When: Saturday, March 27, 2010, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
Where: Hacienda Program Center, Casa Catalina
Who: Everyone welcome
Fee: $3.00 per person

Explore a variety of booths with adult and youth information, hands-on wellness activities and giveaways. Check website for featured Community Partners. Teddy Bear Health Fair: Special Health & Wellness Activities for Daisy & Brownie Girl Scouts. Bring your own Teddy Bear!

Come join us for Global Youth Service Day and help us clean up a local park! After the work is done join us for a softball game! Traditional troops can mingle with our outreach troops and celebrate the spirit of Girl Scouting!
