It’s a Troop Thing!
Have fun camping with a minimal amount of leader planning and preparation. Brownie and Junior Thing are geared for girls ages 6-11 (bridging Daisies, Brownies and Juniors) to try out camp with their troop. Enthusiastic camp staff lead all camp activities.

Each girl and her buddy will sign up for the activities they choose. There will be hiking, archery, singing, crafts, nature games and more! On day one, troops will join in on the skits, singing & s’mores. Day two will be filled with sports, games, outdoor skills, dancing and drama. Choose either an outdoor cookout or a lunch hike to a beautiful mountaintop. That last evening we’ll host a fun theme party (see theme descriptions). Bring costumes and props if you’d like!

Fee includes two nights lodging, five meals, snacks, a campfire program, theme night, program equipment and supplies. Leaders are free per Safety-Wise standards and are not required to have outdoor training. Troop Camps A, B, C and E arrive at 1:00 pm and depart at 10:00 am. Troop Camp D arrives at 5:00 pm and departs at 2:00 pm.

Safari
Lions, tigers and bears...oh my! It will be a wild night to remember, when you can dress in your favorite animal prints, horns or fur or wear your safari hat. Practice a few dances that will have you swinging like a monkey or walking like an elephant.

Hoe Down
Stomp your cowgirl boots at this western style theme night. We may round up the “horses” for a little racing, but don’t go too fast or the camp sheriff will put you in jail. Learn simple line dances like Amos Moses and The Virginia Reel. Yee haw!

NEW! Ancient Greece
So you’ve been to troop camp before, and done it all? Think again! This year try the new Ancient Greece themed troop camp. The theme will be incorporated each day into decorations, program activities, crafts, staff costumes, games and party night. We will have chariot races, learn astrology, share myths, try archery and of course have camp variations of Olympic sports. You can look forward to a new adventure.
